Thanks guys: My floppy cable was backwards. Now, the light turns on when the floppy is being mounted, written, or read, as it should. I tried chmod 777 /dev/fd* and it worked. I just made my boot disk. My ASUS AGP V-3400 TNT TV video card is not supported by the X that I have so I'll just get 3.3.3.1 and take it from there. I tried a program call mousetest. It placed a white rectangle in the top left corner but I couldn't get it to move with my mouse. I hit cntl-c and my screen turned to crap. I had to reboot. I couldn't see what I was typing but it rebooted fine. AL
