        Hello,

I think that lilo can work from a secondary disk too. It's been long
enough but I remember that first time I experimented with lilo I installed
it wrongly in hda and hdb, I made a mistake and installed it first in hdb,
and then in hda. What happened was that when the computer started my menu
appeared, chose to go to hdb and then my menu appeared again, so I had to
select twice the same option to boot my linux in the hdb.

The matter is that I think that the BIOS always tries to boot from
the boot sector in the first disk, and once it reaches there, the booting
lays on your hands.

In lilo.conf the line "boot = /dev/hda" tells lilo where to write
the start up program, isn't it? Well, changing that line to "boot =
/dev/hdb" would write another start up program, but perhaps you would have
to add other line like "other = /dev/hdb" to jump to that new boot ? I know
it happened to me, but I do not remember exactly What I did so that it
happened.
