Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but I'm sure someone out there
knows--

I have a file "something.doc" (A Winword file), I wish to let people
download from a link in a web page. I want the file "Save-As" dialog to
pop up in the client's browser. Additionally, the file must be
uncompressed (ready to open in Winword right after download), and I don't
want the user to have to add a helper application in the browser.

Regardless of the permissions I give the file, it is read as text by
browsers. If I rename the file with a ".exe" extension, the "Save-as"
dialog pops right up in the client.

What am I missing? THANKS!
