The problem is, probably, that your kernel doesn't have SCSI support
built in, or that the SCSI support
is not loaded to your ramdisk at boot time.
What is : "I just installed Linux on my machine"?
Can you specify a little bit more, like distribution name, kernel
version, did you compile your kernel
and so on?
