I don't know too much about OS/2 but I suggest you use OS/2's
partitioning tool to erase /dev/hda1, then linux' fdisk to create a new
one. Normally, it has to be a primary partition, not extended, except if
you want to create a number of logical partitions inside it. And I don't
know whether it's really good to have the first partition extended...
I've never seen that.
