The 3c905 cards are very nice cards (I have two of them in my own box) and
they are well supported by linux.  You need to have the driver either
compiled into the kernel, or available as a loadable module (via kerneld or
insmod).

PnP can be a bit tricky with linux (at the moment anyway), but that's
another issue.
