sendmail.cf: class dbm not available.

I'm trying to define sendmail.cf tables, e.g. domaintalbe, and am getting
"/etc/sendmail.cf: line 136: readcf: map domaintable: class dbm not available".
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong and/or missing?
