Hi
I dont know if this is the correct list but I wonder if anyone can help.
I have a problem with the quota system, I have hunted through all the
FAQ's etc.... but can not find any reference to my problem. The problem is
as follows.
I have 2 hard disks, one is a 4.3GB disk and is mounted as /home
the other is a pair of 4.3GB hard disks mounted using Raid0 Stripped mode
which are mounted as /home/stud
The disk quota's on the for the staff who have home directories in
/home/staff work fine.
The quotas for the students who's home directories are located in
/home/stud have problems.
The problems are :
I can edit the quota for a student user using edquota
save the quota limit and reedit it using edquota once again and
the values are saved. But if i list the quotas for all filesystems the
staff quota's show up fine. The student quotas are not active though it
shows no quota assigned to the student user.
I thought hmmm must be a problem with editing the quotas, I ran edquota on
the user again and the quota details I had put in before were still there,
check on repquota and they are not shown.
The only difference between the staff codes and the student codes is that
the staff codes are alpha-numeric, the student login codes are just
numeric and that they have their home directories on different
partitions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have 1500 student with not quota
limit at the moment (u can guess how much disk space they can fill)
