I'm hoping that someone here has experience with this...
I have "inherited" a scsi tape backup unit (and a bunch of 90m/2Gb tapes),
which I'm about to attach to our web server (which has three 6Gb IDE drives
on it).
It is a digital TLZ07-DA (desktop) model. Unlike similar models in this
range, it has no set of DIP switches. With the aha1542 and st drivers, it
works just great.
I want to enable compression by default on it, and it seems that the only
way to do this is via software.
% mt datcompression 1
Compression is off
It won't let me do it :-(
Anyone got any ideas?
Am I stuck with doing the compression with my backup software?
Many thanks for any help or clues.
Cheers
Tony
