Subject: Terrible 2.2 install problems

Hello

I just bought Caldera 2.2, and for the life of me could not get it to install using the graphical Lizard program on a basic machine (Pentium 133, 4 gig drive Mach 64 card, no network card).  It gets to the point after it detects the hardware, which it does properly, and then bombs into the character based screen and gives an error message about PANIC - No ROot.  That's it, it hangs there.

I checked the knowledge base, disabled the external cache, tried new memory, all as it recommended.  Anyway, I installed from Lisa (also described in the knowledge base) and it installed OK, but it seems to be missing stuff I had in 1.3.  I did a FULL install of all packages, and there is no iCBS on the CD.  I tried to install a program which I downloaded which was in the .Z format, and believe it or not, there was no uncompress or compress program on the hard drive or CD.

Anyway, I gave up and went back to 1.3 since I need iCBS.  What's going on with this version.
