You may be making things more difficult, can't say.
I inherited one of these:
***** BusLogic SCSI Driver Version 2.0.15 of 17 August 1998 *****
Copyright 1995-1998 by Leonard N. Zubkoff <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Configuring BusLogic Model BT-946C PCI SCSI Host Adapter
and on it is one of these:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 03 Lun: 00
Vendor: CONNER Model: CTMS 3200 Rev: 7.00
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
I don't even think about it, I just use it.
Do a 'man mt' if you've installed the mt package; if not, do so. I use TOB
(found on Sunsite/Metalab) in conjunction with AFIO -- SNAP! No worries.
Backups/restores...no probs!
