can i change the config of pop3d?

Hello all,
     can i get the mail saved in mbox by pop3?
     By default, pop3d check my mail in /var/mail/name. Now i have
     saved my mail in /home/name/mbox using "mailx". Can i change
     the configuration of pop3d to tell it to check my mail in
     /home/name/mbox(only temporarily). I don't want to copy mbox
     to /var/mail/name.
