I have been "playing" around with a semi-functional Linux box for a few days
now and I need some advice on purchasing a new video and audio card.  My
current video card is not fully supported and I had to use a commercial
x-server to get the job done.  Now that my 30 days trial license has run out
(on the x-server) I have a choice to make, buy the x-server or buy a video
card.  So I want to buy a video card.  I need to know what video cards will
be supported natively with Linux distributions.  I know that there is a
hardware list, but the card I currently have is listed there and I can tell
you it is barely supported (640x480).  So please only recommend hardware
that works really well.  I also need a sound card of the same caliber.

You might want to note that this is a P120 with 16MB RAM, so it isn't
necessary to get the latest and greatest only something that will work, and
work well.

Please Help,
DS

my $29.00 4meg pci S3 Virge card works fine.
Not sure what the sound is (on the MB) but believe it to be ESS and it works fine too.
