I'm looking for details on how to get the latest Banshee 3Dfx drivers
(X/Mesa/OpenGL/Glide etc) working correctly with Quake 1 and 2.

I've read lots of docs and howtos, got all the latest drivers, tried
all their suggestions, no luck. All I end up with is a bailout of
quake with a horribly corrupted screen that can only seem to be
corrected after a (yuk!) reboot :(

(The X/glide/Mesa drivers/libraries come from
http://glide.xxedgexx.com and http://www.mesa3d.org).

Surely someone out there has this working!

(BTW: CreativeLabs 16Mb pci Banshee, redhat 6.0).

I'm trying to set this up on several computers that I want to put on
public display (to "show off" linux).

The next hurdle is getting the 3Dfx drivers working (for the same
reason) on several more boxes that have 32Mb Riva TNT2 cards on
them...

As always, many thanks for any help and/or pointers to some good
information about any of this...

Cheers
Tony
