386 Minimum Install

I have a 386 with 8 meg of ram that I would like to install linux on.  I
could put a cdrom into it, if I needed to.  That would be no problem.  So if
I did, where could I get a distro that would be very small, or how can I
make a distrobution small.  All I want to run on it is C/C++/x86 assembly
development, and maybe Apache for the hell of it.  I don't need X.  Right
now, I just need a way to install.
