We have a printer attached to an external jetdirect print server. Most of
the time this works fine. Every once in a while (say once a day) it stops
working and the print jobs queue up. This is usually accompanied by (or
caused by) 0 length cf files that pop up in the spool directory. Usually
removing these files in enough to get things restarted.

Any ideas on what's causing this, or what to do about it? the following
is our printcap file:
lp:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\
        :mx#0:\
        :sh:\
        :rm=ljact:\
        :rp=:\
        :if=/var/spool/lpd/lp/filter:

Better by far you should forget and smile than that you should remember
and be sad.
