I suggest using linear mode. I have had this happen on IDE drives before.
Put the word "linear" in /etc/lilo.conf and re-run lilo.

Subject: Installing LILO in the HD

Hi

I'm having problems installing LILO on the MBR.
I 've installed LILO during the installation of Linux. I 've selected to
installed it in the MBR with 30 secs to wait.
I have the /dev/hda2 as a Linux partition and /dev/hda1 a DOS partition.

When I start the machine it says: " LI_ " and doesn't boot.
I try with Shift, Ctrl, or Tab keys but nothing apperas.

what should I do?
            Thanks
                        Ins
