I think I agree with you there.... I much prefer not having to read all the
information passed buring the Linux boot process, if I don't have to, ie only
when there is an error...
Having a graphical screen that lists the process, and "Ok" if it loads
correctly sounds like a Good Thing :o)
The funny thing in this point of discussion, is the old vs new that's
appearing. Some people (I'd say most new people) want a GUI of sorts when
they load Linux, ie the move towards consumerism. Others, the longtime
users, the developers etc, don't really want or need a GUI so much,
depending on what they do, and so some prefer the text option.
If Linux gets more easy to configure, then questions like these won't matter
so much... but Linux is currently a total bitch to configure for most people,
including me, but then I just haven't found a good book yet ;o)
