Hi

I have a problem which shouldn't be a problem as it should be a
straightforward matter.

I merely want to mail out a message with the vacation program wilst I
will be away.

I installed the vacation rpm (vacation-8.2-3), made a .vacation.msg file
with some text in it, and then added the following line to my .forward
file (in accordance with "man vacation")

\[EMAIL PROTECTED] "|/usr/bin/vacation -a hugo"

In other words, the mail should be forwarded to my current account, then
a pipe is made to the vacation program, which then mails out the
.vacation.msg contents.

both .forward and .vacation are world readable, I have tried to change
the the line in .forward incuding my complete email address ie

\[EMAIL PROTECTED] "|/usr/bin/vacation -a [EMAIL PROTECTED]"

In all cases (1) I don't receive the message myself (2) the sender does
not receive the .vacation.msg contents in return. Instead the sender
obtains an error message: returned mail: host unknown cs.uwa.edu.au.

Does anyone knows what is going on here?

Thanks

Hugo
