You could make "/boot" a separate partition, and make sure that it's near the
beginning of the disk.
You might try, although I've never verified that it'll work, setting your disk,
in the BIOS, to LBA, and then specifying the "linear" directive within
"/etc/lilo.conf". Before altering the BIOS setting, make sure that you write
down exactly what it's currently set to. Altering the setting may cause you to
lose access to the data on the disk, and, if that happens, you'll need to
restore the setting to its former value.
