    Older distribution may work, like Slackware < 2.0, if you have one. I 
did install  linux on 80M with X-window support at few years back, which 
I borrow from my friends, but not sure it is slackware(can't remember), 
but I am sure it is not red hat. 

    You might need some customize a little bit, if you know, but just 
quite troublesom.
