HI. Somebody messed around with my X server and now I have a graphical login (RedHat 6.0 - kernel 2.2.5) which doesn't work and respawns itself with CTRL-ALT-DELETE. So I can't use Linux. In the past I've come around that by editing /etc/inittab through a rescue disk, but this time, every time I edit it and reboot, /etc/inittab gets restored back as it was before editing it. During the boot I can read something like this: "INIT: booting inittab version 2.77 INIT: missing action in line [58]" p
