mount a novel-drive ...

hi,
i try to mount a dir on a novel-net-server like this:
 mount -t nfs ATLAEVLI:/alle /novel
but the portmapper says: "RPC: Portmapper failure ; Unable to receive
(the server atlaevli is insert with his IP in /etc/hosts )
i'm relatively new in the novel-world, and the manpages couldn't help me a
lot ...
