I bet if you drop an index.html file into that directory then the
error message will go away and everything will work as expected.
It looks like you have apache configured not to show directory
listings when there isn't a default page to display. If you want to
allow directory listings, set "Options Indexes" in the config for
that directory (or do it in a local .htaccess file).
