Since I upgraded my kernel, I am seeing this in my startup messages:
May 22 23:42:26 eden modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-21
May 22 23:42:26 eden modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-26
May 22 23:42:26 eden modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-24
and my chat script shows the following:
sent [CCP TermReq id=0x2"No compression negotiated"]
but my dial-in link still seems to be working OK.
There is no ppp-compress.o in /lib/modules, but there is a ppp.o and a
ppp_deflate.o
Have I inadvertantly misconfigured something and if so, what?
