Hi,
there are two kind of possibilitys: fist, my system's nuts,
or i'm sooo stupid.
system: asus bx400 board, 300Mhz, 64MBRAM,
the parallel port is set in the BIOS io=0x378
and the irq=7.
i am trying a few days long, to activate a PLIP-host;
the porblem accours, that the devive plip0 (or plip1, etc)
could not be found.
when i try to insert the plip-module
insmod plip io=378 irq=7
then i got errors like
device not found.
i studyed all the howto's , help-files, books, IRC-requests, and so on,
but it didn't work yet.
do i have to make a device with mknod plip0 or something?
(i don't think so)
the irq is free, so, whats the matter?
any ideas?
please try to help me.
