My framebuffer (3dfx) starts as 640x480-60. I can use fbset(8) to change it to 1024x768-60, but I have to re-login to get bash to recognize the new size for each console, and I have to call "/etc/init.d/gpm restart" to get to recognize the larger window (but that carries over to all consoles and makes gpm work whether it's 640x480 or 1024x768. I tried vga=0x305 and vga=773, but I didn't even get an error message on boot; it just ignored it. How may I set this up? (Debian/potato, therefore no rc.local.)
