        1) what kernel version are you using?
        2) in back of your card you can find a number. use this number to
correctly identify your board in intel. use this url:

        http://support.intel.com/support/network/adapter/pro100/21397.htm
        
        3) what is the chipset? (the bigest chip on board have a number
like "82595". please write this number for me)

explanation:
        the old driver has a bug in probe function that now (>2.2.14) is
fixed. this board works in linux very well, so don't worry :)
