Hello,

I'm having a problem installing Red Hat Linux 6.1 on a Pentium III
550 with a 18 Gig Seagate drive using a Adaptec 2940 SCSI card. The problem
is that Linux hangs when the aic-78xx driver is loaded during install. We
tried using a 9 Gig drive and the install worked fine. We are thinking that
the problem might be related to the size of the drive, no one here has Linux
on anything larger than 13 Gig. We've already spent a week fiddling with it
with no success. Would someone please enlighten me as to what to try next?
Any help is appreciated.

        Thanks,
        John Matthews
