FYI - From the Bangalore LUG: ----------------------------- All: I am back in Bangalore, and thought it was time to spring another one of my nuclear suggestions: ILUG-Bangalore has been growing by leaps and bounds, and there are many difficulties associated with the huge number of people we have been getting. Is it time to start an official member-registration process? This would allow us to differentiate between a member and a walk-in (who could become a member). It would also allow us to differentiate between the serious Linux-heads and the casual subscribers of the list. And finally, it wuld allow us to project accurate numbers to potential sponsors. A lot goes with such a registration process that would need to be discussed, including membership fees, ID cards, "perqs", etc. Many people will be against this formal approach, but in the long run, we have to take into account that we are the single biggest ILUG in the country and also the most active one. This creates management issues that we should handle *now* rather than wait until we become even bigger. Any thoughts?
