Q.Is it possible to make software *based* on a GPL'd
software and distribute it under a lesser restrictive
license?
Scenario. There is a popular GPL software available in
Perl. I want to redo that software in some other
language. So I won't be using any of it's code
directly. I would probably be copying that software's
"way of doing things".
Also, I don't want to release it under GPL but rather
a license that I like better - The Apache one.
Is what I am about to do legal???
