Is there some other initialization command like Z0 or &F in your connect
script? Perhaps it's overriding the W2. Maybe sending the connect script
would help. Also, you might want to try connecting manually using kermit
or minicom (you don't have to log in, just go as far as the connection
phase) to find out what's happening.
