I have updated my RedHat 5.2 box to the latest kernel 2.2.2 and I think
the required other updates. I switched to ipchains, use diald-0.98.3,
and dialmon-0.7 and it seems to work. It detects traffic and dials into
the ISP correctly. My problem is that at random times I get dropped off.
The var/log/messages shows an entry "Link died on remote end" and then
it tries to dial back in. I can't seem to track it down to a setting on
my end. I've played with the mtu/mru settings, baud rate settings,
nothing seems to make it bettor or worse. It was rock solid on the
2.0.36 kernel. Is anyone else having problems?
