....my subnetwork is haning on a 10Mb LAN, connected to the router, with
the following firewalling rules brought up in /ettc/init.d/network:

....anyway, if you think I'm doing something badly wrong, please let me
know! I'm sure it's something small and simple that I've overlooked, but
it doesn't seem to make a difference if I'm firewalling or not (if I
rebuild the kernel) - masquerading works 100%, and nothing else does, iot
just drops the idle link.
