With the above modifications, my system works with the redhat defaults.
In addition, changing the ppp0 to a * is not acceptible in my situation.
I also run mgetty on my machine, with some dialin users using PPP with
PAP. My ISP username and Password should NOT be usable in that case.
In addition, if one thinks about the way ppp and pap-secerets works, then
the above should not work unless something is broken along the way.
