Yes, this was the form of annihilation I was trying to convey! I'm running 0.16,
with the latest patch (5), and still have the problem.

I discovered if you disable the 'Check for mail every xx minutes' option under
Preferences->MailServer->MoreOptions, Netscape won't try to resolve the mail server
name at startup.
