What stops working? If you do an ifconfig your eth0 card is still listed
right? You can still ping your own card on the diald machine, but can't
ping the other machines on the network? What may be happening is that diald
is changing your routing? I don't know, but check your routes. Diald, I
think, wipes your default route and set itself as the default route.
