I wasn't able to get the netbios-ns (port 137) packets to be ignored by
diald's standard.filter either. A suggestion by another diald user was
to go to the Windows 98 machine and run the "winipcfg" program (use the
"run" command under the "start" menu).

If you see "NetBIOS Resolution Uses DNS" checked, then you've located
your netbios-ns activity.

To fix this, run regedit and go into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -->
System --> Current Control Set --> Services --> VxD --> and then the
MSTCP folder. Under there, you'll find a setting called "EnableDNS".
"Modify" this setting to "0". Close regedit and you should be set.
It will change some settings under your "network" control panel, but
shouldn't affect Internet browsing.
