Yep. Since you've already gotten PAP to work properly by calling
pppd manually, I'm going to assume you've made the appropriate
entries in /etc/ppp/pap-secrets and so on.
As such, you'll need to change your diald connect script so that it
no longer tries to do authentication on its own, and add a "pppd-
options" line to your diald configuration file which looks like this
(omitting quotes, of course):
'pppd-options user [username]'
This will tell diald to pass the 'user [username]' options to pppd,
which will handle the authentication on its own using PAP.
