I just compiled diald from the diald-0.16.5a-1.src.rpm on my alpha. There
is a dctrl patch file there. Dctrl hung on startup just like it did before.
I looked at the patched file and sure enough the "bug" was not fixed.
I added the line "after 500" (without the double quotes) after line
242 in the patched file. See if this is your problem.
