Hi all

I feel really stupit not being able getting diald to work. I consulted
diald HOWTO and diald man page, which by the way I found irritating for
a newbie like me ( or should I say idiot ? )
I followed Tom Yates advice, but still nothing happens when I request ip
traffic on a client. Here my LAN topography (very simple though) :
---------------------------------------------------------------------

                            Linux RedHat 5.1 ( 2.0.34 )
                             -------------                    -------
                             server 192.168.1.1---------  modem  -----
ISP
                             -------------                    -------
                                            *
                                            *
                                            *
           ***********************************

*                                                                  *

*                                                                  *
Linux RedHat 5.1( 2.0.34 )           Winblows NT WS 4.0
------------------            ------------------
workstation 1 192.168.1.2             workstation2 192.168.1.3
------------------            ------------------

IP masquerading and ISP connection work fine. Telnet, ftp also.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

All I want is the basic feature of diald. Dial the ISP upon workstation
request and shuting downthe link at idle.
Could someone give me a step by step guide, written as for a 10 year old
child ( starting after installing the rpm package)??
I would also appreciate diald-examples man pages mailed to me.

I hope, I do not bother you too much but as you might have experienced
yourself, a newbie life in linux can be tough since the HOWTOS are
designed to be used by rather advanced hackers. I compare them to a book
which teaches you "how to drive a car" by reading a book :)

Thank you so much

Dominic Opferkuch
