Vice versa, /etc and /var on floppy, binyries in ramdisk. That's what I
have. 100 times faster and more reliable. Anyone can plug my router off
and when is plugged back it works normal again.

Yes, but i have diald, pppd, mgetty (for dialin), inetd and in.telnetd
daemons on one floppy and I can fix everything from home etc.
