Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing! I don't let Diald do any routing at
all (that's why I use the ifsetup script - to be in full control). I make
sure the correct routes are set before Diald is started. But the problem
is that the default route disappears when a connection is made. This
doesn't happen when I do a 'manual' isdnctrl dial ippp1, so I guess it is
caused by Diald. I think the kernel removes the default route because of
something Diald does with the device. 

The host/network routes still exist after making the connection, however.
But I think that is because the kernel adds these automatically. Does
Diald bring the link down and up again before making a connection? That
would explain why the default route disappears.
