Well tnaks to all for the help so far. I am using diald 0.99 on a fresh
install of rh 5.2. I am also using pap + dynamic ip. I can use the rh
"ifup ppp0" command with success. Now with diald, I have the following
diald.conf file.
----------------------------------------------------
connect "/usr/sbin/chat -f /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/chat-ppp0"
device modem
speed 115200
modem
user l-username_for_connect
lock
crtscts
local 192.168.0.6
remote 192.168.0.7
dynamic
defaultroute
include /usr/lib/diald/standard.filter
------------------------------------------------
I never see the ppp interface come up.

diald says that it has started ppp. A ps ax confirms this. However pppd
stops and complains about "pppd startup timed out. Check your pppd
options".

I am right in assuming that the file /etc/ppp/options needs more info (ie
like the list of stuff that rh puts in the ppp command line) in? Now I
have tried this and it doesn't work.

Thanks in advance,

Bob Grabau
