Sorry about being late with this reply (originally sent May 28, 1999). I
keep forgetting some of my hosts don't actually exist (according to
DNS), and Samford's mail exchanger refused this reply. Interesting thing
is that the host I'm sending from *does* exist, if one searches for MX
records... :-(

Somebody *please* correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it the
2.2 kernels no longer support the cua? serial devices. You should be
using /dev/ttyS1.

That will result in "permission denied", actually, (at least that's the
case with pre-2.2 kernels).
