I guess that this is actually a bugette in the route code (ifconfig
would behave the same i'd imagine) whereby it doesn't know that the
ethertap devices don't actually use any interrupts (cf the
loopback interface, for which ifconfig shows no interrupt).

PS. I'm sure I should be able to find out this, but where is the
latest 0.99.x source? I tried the mail list archive but it seemed
dead :-( Also, Mike Jagdis' home page says "I do diald" but doesn't
seem to have a link (cunning idea, no users, no bugs!)
