Okay, people. I have spend all night trying to get 0.99.1 or 0.16.5 getting
to work on RH5.2 (2.0.36). I stopped on 0.16.5 because it dialed at least
when I called it "diald up". Yet it refuses to dial when I telnet or ping
something. It does not showup in "ps aux | grep diald" when I start it as
"diald &" but it does show up when I start it as "diald". Here is the dump
of my "route" when it is not connected:

Kernel IP routing table

and here comes /etc/diald.conf

mode ppp
connect /etc/diald/connect
device /dev/modem
speed 38400
modem
lock
crtscts
local 216.164.68.x
remote 10.65.54.14
defaultroute
include /usr/lib/diald/standard.filter

What in the world would be wrong here?
