I have been trying to get diald going for quite some time now and getting
nowhere. Manual ppp calls to my ISP work just fine with a script or with
PAP. Also, calls into my own system with ppp complete with no problems but
diald remains a mystery.
When I start diald and then activate it with a network request, it
dials OK but diald is never able to negotiate a ppp session and disconnects. I
have no idea why the ppp session fails and don't know how to find out.
Any suggestions on what I should be looking for and how??

My understanding is that diald can use a scripted login as well as PAP or CHAP.
Can anyone positively confirm that? (ie You use it and it works)

Hasn't helped me any but I agree it's a good first step.
