Here's my abbreviated version:
0. login as root
1. You are using diald-0.16... Make copies of the currently used diald.defs,
diald.conf and all files "include"-ed by diald.conf.
2. place a copy of diald-0.99.1.tar.gz in /usr/src, then
cd /usr/src
tar -zxpvf diald-0.99.1.tar.gz
mv diald diald-0.99.1
cd diald-0.99.1
less README
3. edit Makefile and config.h; make sure directories used are the same as for your
dial-0.16 setup, then
make depend
make (there may be problems with here!)
make install
4. Read the following, and act accordingly (some of the options in diald.conf have
changed from 0.16 to 0.99). I found it necessary to add default routes in init and
firewall scripts, change the way masquerading was setup when the link was down, etc.
The documentation is dated and sloppy.
