I think that if you use qmail and are dialup, you'd better have qmail put all
outgoing mail in a maildir and send it on the internet with serialmail (you
can run serialmail from ip-up).
This has the side-effect that the mail will stay in the maildir till someone
open the connection, but you won't have dns problem anymore.
The setup for qmail-dialup is explained somewhere in the qmail faq or docs.
